Interview with JIM MAHFOOD!
Book review of Gemma Bovery by Posy Simmonds!
And of course, Joe's picks of the week!

Some other fun facts about this show:
*The voices at the beginning belong to the sports guys. They are obviously really into kickball and are willing to sacrifice fun for success. (Just listen to how sad Jason sounds when he reports that they lost their last game! Awww.) They're livin' in a BACKWARDS WORLD, MAN!
*There are at least two references to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles!
*Joe and Annie hang on Jim's every word and laugh really, really loudly at all of his jokes! It is endearingly pathetic!
*This show is 100% free of references to donkey punching!
*Near the end of this show, Annie, Ian, and Joe start to become 10-year-olds. At the end of the show, they have completed their transformation, as evidenced by: excessive giggling, blowing bubbles into the microphone, and talking about how 'Superman Returns' was "SOOOOOO AWWEEESOOOOOMMME."

Tune in next week for our interview with Jeffrey Brown and a review of 'Superman Returns'!
We'll be asking for callers for their thoughts on the movie, so feel free to call in if you want to share!
Thanks for stopping by!

Superman really has returned

Saw the film earlier today in 3D Imax.

I am in awe of its awesomeness. I know fans and critics are divided on how they feel. All I know is that I absolutely love Superman Returns.

If you are interested in the film at all, go see it now. Call in next week and tell us what you thought about it.

Holy Snakes on a Plane Batman!

That's right, Snakes on a Plane has a real trailer now...and it is completely glorious.
And if we learn anything, it is this: Sam Jackson = more dangerous than snakes.
I love it.

American Elf Power

Ian just linked me to this Webcomics Examiner review of American Elf, and it sure put some thought blobs in my head.
A Mr. Philip Sandifer references Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics, James Kochalka's proclivity towards drawing his own genitalia, and the Seth vs. Kochalka "feud" in a handful of well-written, insightful paragraphs.
A good primer for those who don't read Kochalka's American Elf regularly, and a hearty salad of critical review for those who do.
